Celeste Rose created the perfect big day for couples across the globe from her wedding consultancy business here in Primrose Hill. Taking time out from her busy summer schedule, she chats to PRESS over a cup of tea.
PRESS: You have the career that many little girls (and grown women) dream of – describe the moment you decided to start your consultancy.
CR: It was a totally organic process. I love everything about weddings, from the dress, to the flowers and stationary, right down to the cake, and had helped plan weddings for friends.
I gained some great organizational skills working as a Private Assistant in the city, organizing the lives of my high profile clients, and planning some fabulous parties! These experiences, combined with my passion for weddings, led me to the natural decision to turn my dream into my business.
PRESS: You’ve made your dream come true, and in doing so, the dreams of so many others. Who’s supported you on your journey?
CR: I’m blessed to be surrounded by warm, positive people. As an entrepreneur himself, my husband understands the hard work I’ve had to put in to succeed. We’ve both started from scratch, and supported each other the whole way.
PRESS: What has been the best wedding you’ve planned so far?
CR: I couldn’t possibly pick a favourite – every wedding is completely unique, both to me, and the happy couple. Babington House, Somerset is where I got married myself, so every time I plan a wedding there I get a little extra excited. It’s a breathtaking place and holds so many memories.
PRESS: For many brides, the dress is the most important thing about the big day. Do you have any tips for finding the perfect dress, and what do you like to wear for work?
CR: It’s so important for brides-to-be to try on as many dresses as they can, as a style you dreamed of as a teenage girl may not be quite as dreamy in real life! I worked with a bride recently who’d always wanted a big, voluminous ‘princess’ dress, and, in the end, a sleeker style suited her better.
Designs by Vera Wang, Mira Zwillinger and Alice Temperley are my favourites for clients, and Phillipa Lepley has made some beautiful couture pieces for my brides recently. I dress in a combination of feminine, designer & high-street pieces for an ‘office-chic’ look – naturally, slightly more formal for wedding days!
PRESS: Despite flying around the world, planning glittering weddings, you’re based in Primrose Hill – what brings you back?
CR: I love Primrose Hill: It’s got a ‘village’ feel that’s so unique. It’s a stone’s throw from where I spend most of my time, Mayfair and the surrounding West End. The hustle and bustle of central London can get too much sometimes… so I relish coming back to Primrose hill, to see friends, eat, walk my dogs… and feel completely at home!
